The Hat

Why do I need a sauna hat?

Your head sits closest to the ceiling, where the air in a sauna is hottest. A wool hat creates a barrier of still air that slows heat absorption — your head stays comfortable, you stay in longer, and your body gets the benefit of the full session.

What is the hat made from?

100% wool. 4mm single layer of high-density felt, finished with minimal stitching. Naturally temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, and antimicrobial.

What colour does it come in?

One colour: Natural — a warm oak tone. We've focused our launch range on a single, considered colourway.

Is the wool itchy?

Felted wool sits as a structured hat, not snug against the scalp the way a knit beanie does, so most people find it comfortable. If you have a known wool sensitivity, the brim is what touches your forehead — try it briefly first and use our 30-day return if it's not for you.

Will it work in a steam room or infrared cabin?

Yes. The hat is designed for traditional Finnish-style dry saunas but performs well in steam rooms and infrared cabins. In a steam room it will absorb more moisture; air dry it fully between sessions.

Does it protect my hair?

Dry heat above 80 °C is hard on hair structure. The hat shields your hair from direct heat exposure for the duration of a session.

Sizing & Fit

What size do I need?

One size, designed to fit most adult heads. The hat softens and moulds to your head over the first few sessions.

How should it sit on my head?

The brim should sit just above your eyebrows and fully cover your ears. It should feel snug but not tight — wool gives a little once warm.

Care

How do I care for the hat?

Air dry after every session — hang it somewhere ventilated, brim up. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap if needed. Reshape while damp.

Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Do not wring.

How long will it last?

With proper care, years. Felted wool is built for repeated heat exposure — it softens and develops character with use rather than wearing out.

Will it smell after use?

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and resists odour. If a faint scent develops, air the hat outside for a few hours; it usually resolves without needing to wash it.

What if it loses its shape?

Reshape while damp — pull it gently back to form on a flat surface or over a bowl that approximates head shape, then let it dry there.

Where do you ship?

Currently the United States only — including Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO/DPO addresses. International shipping is not yet available.

Is shipping free?

Standard shipping is free on U.S. orders over $95. Orders under $95 ship at a flat rate calculated at checkout.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping usually arrives in 3–7 business days; expedited options are available at checkout.

Can I track my order?

Yes — you'll receive a tracking link by email when your order ships. If you don't receive tracking within three business days, email us at hello@fornya.co.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Get in touch quickly — orders are released to fulfilment fast. Email hello@fornya.co with your order number and we'll do our best to help before it ships.

Returns

What is your return policy?

A 30-day money-back guarantee. Return any unused, unwashed hat in its original condition within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price.

How do I start a return?

Email hello@fornya.co with your order number, the item you'd like to return, and the reason. We'll send return instructions and a return address.

Who pays for return shipping?

Customers cover return shipping. We recommend a tracked, insured service. If a hat arrived defective or we sent the wrong item, we cover return shipping — get in touch and we'll arrange it.

How long do refunds take?

Once we receive and inspect your return, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Your bank may take a little longer to post the credit.
